MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Over the past few weeks the Memphis City Schools district has been thrust in the spotlight, thanks in part to a visit from President Barack Obama. While that may be the highlight of an exciting school year for the district, it was not the only achievement shared by students, teachers and administrators.
Earlier this year, White Station Middle School earned first place honors in the National Science League event. The MCS Urban Debate League teams ranked third in the nation among 76 teams participating in the program. And, the district as a whole was recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants as one of the best communities for music education in America.
Joining FOX13 to talk about some of these accomplishments is Memphis City School Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash.
