MEMPHIS, Tenn. – About 50 Memphis City School teachers got pick slips Tuesday.
The majority of the educators let go were English and history teachers, most only had one to two years of experience.
They were asked to report to Messick High School Tuesday afternoon, where they were given separation papers and told they were being laid off because of seniority.
Just last month, nearly 100 MCS teachers were let go due to drastic budget cuts.
